I agree with u in this...Not cos gals cannot be close frds...but somehow a guy-guy frdship lasts for years, mebbe cos their personal commitments to family are much lesser than us.
For us, mge is the first hurdle in the frdship declining atleast to some extent. and with a kid, I guess almost all our time is taken off...Watever, being a girl is the best feeling in the world!!!

Very true ..guys steal the show there :)
They last long as compared to we girl's da.
Well all my standing friendships now are the ones with guys. So, guess girl-guy's deserves (my honor) the next honor!!
I am not going to agree with you. I am not going to disagree with you. I'll share my 2 cents on this, though.
Guy-guy friendship
Not much room for drama. More laidback. They don't expect each other to be 'emotionally availble'. They forget easy. Less 'talking'. These tend to last for a LONG time, generally speaking.
Girl-girl friendship
There will definitely be drama and melodrama. Both has to emotionally available for support, advice, and comments. They go to each other when there's a guy issue. The relationship is based mainly on emotions. When there are other commitments on the table, these tend to break apart.
Why does a guy-guy friendship last longer and not a girl-girl friendship?
A girl bases her friendship on how available the other person is. The more availabe they are, the more they talk and the stronger the relationship gets (usually). A guy doesn't have to call his friend every day. When they do call each other once in a while, they are able to talk to each other in the same manner as they used to talk; that can't happen with girls.
It all comes down to the way we are 'engineered'!! At least, that's what I think!

Two guys date the same girl and then lose her and sit in a bar a month later and laugh about it.. ofcourse they do check-out the girl at the counter :P
I came here to comment something else..But I agree with Absconding..true..
Maybe the guy-guy friendship is 'better'(I dont think girl-girl thing is any less worth) because they dont really understand anything. All they want is a beer bottle and a TV. There are no hangups, just hang overs :)
Girl-girl needs to be emotionally more intense because girls are emotional creatures? Nows thats perfectly logical.
